Basically I make a comic and I just finished Chapter 3.
http://sticktown.smackjeeves.com/The Plot:There's a planet called "Stickworld," a near-perfect planet with the lovely capital of Sticktown. A citizen of Sticktown, Dude, has a small defense force that he trains, but he is often ridiculed for it because nobody believes anything bad can happen to the city. That is, until one day...
An evil organization named Darkray invaded, with its motives unknown to anyone. They soon took over the entire planet but before they took over Sticktown. Dude made a deal with a commander of Darkray. He said that in 6 months he would have an army ready to defeat Darkray. The commander was honorable compared to most of his coworkers and agreed, although he told Dude that many members of Darkray would still attack Sticktown.
So Dude then began to recruit his army from across the galaxy... Finding many strange members...
tl;dr plot:Dude is making an army to defeat the evil organization, Darkray, and save Sticktown. Oh and it's not very serious for the most part. The serious-funny scale is like that of Gintama or Dragon Ball (pre-Z)
The Story Behind It:Throughout elementary school I had random ideas. A lot of these were pretty funny and just based on random experiences. So many characters were made... Alien Guy, Blade, Darky, Yutabooz, the list was endless. I made little comics of all of them, but nothing too big. The only biggish comic I had was "Super (My First Name)" but that was only in 2nd-3rd grade.
Then one day in 4th grade I decided to make a doodle called "Sticktown: with Stick People and Random People." In it I had a bunch of stickfigures and all those other characters I had made.
Then my friend saw it and we added more to it, and he told me I should make it a comic, so I did.
There were some funny things in it, and I went through and made a LOT of story. None of it made sense, but it was pretty funny.
Then the years passed.
In 7th grade, I started realizing just how much everything in my mind was based on it. So many experiences I had would just inspire new ideas. I realized it was kinda a foundation for who I was. I started changing the story, so it could actually make sense. I decided I would go through and make comics of all those ideas I had thought up over the years.
I ended up making 4 versions of Chapter 1. The first didn't make sense (4th grade). The second was too DBZ based and blew (5th grade). The third was good, but didn't flow well (8th grade). Then the summer before freshman year (I'm a sophomore, for context), I made one that worked well. Well enough really. I think I did a bad job of kicking off the series, but whatever. I'm continuing.
And now it's online
http://sticktown.smackjeeves.com/I know, it's not that great yet. A lot of the humor I used was forced. But still, I've been getting good reception from both people I know and some people on the internet. (Minby's a big fan :P)
I want more of course. A lot more, this means everything to me.
But I can understand a lack right now. I don't feel the comic is up to snuff yet. But I want everyone to be patient, and tell me their thoughts on the comic.
I want to know what you think overall, things you like in particular and things you dislike in particular.
Thanks, this means a lot.
